Compliance

Proof when it counts

Live, time-stamped pre-start records are what hold up if an agency asks. Records reconstructed after an incident don't.

Health and Safety at Work Act 2015

New Zealand's primary workplace health and safety law. A PCBU must manage work risks so far as is reasonably practicable. Pre-start checks are how a business demonstrates vehicles and machinery are inspected before use.

WorkSafe NZ expectations

WorkSafe expects businesses to have an inspection and maintenance programme in place. Recording every pre-start in one system makes that programme visible.

NZTA / Waka Kotahi

NZTA recommends drivers carry out a pre-trip walk-around before operating a heavy vehicle to confirm it is safe and legal. Keeping a vehicle roadworthy is a legal requirement.

Evidence after an incident

If an incident happens, agencies investigating may ask for pre-start and maintenance records. Having those recorded live and time-stamped is far stronger than trying to produce something after the fact - which doesn't hold up.

Check n Go is built so records are created at the moment the check happens, can't be backdated, and can't be deleted. That's the difference between hoping you can prove it and actually being able to.

The wider compliance picture

Operators in New Zealand also juggle Certificate of Fitness (CoF) inspections, work-time and logbook rules, Road User Charges (RUC) and registration. Check n Go is the tool that nails the daily pre-start inspection record specifically - it does not manage CoF, RUC, registration or logbooks.

  • Certificate of Fitness, usually every six months for heavy vehicles
  • Work-time & logbook rules, kept for 12 months
  • Road User Charges & registration, ongoing
  • Pre-start checks, daily, before the vehicle moves
